About Andrea

Andrea Swope LAc, LMP graduated from Brian Utting School of Massage in 1992 and the Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 1997. She has been practicing craniosacral therapy since 1996 and combines it in tandem with acupuncture needles. During a session, clients receive some combination of acupuncture, craniosacral therapy and/or massage (often a pressure point style) depending on the system’s needs.

Andrea also brings decades of experience with zen, movement meditation, and somatics to her practice. From these internal arts, she has honed her intuition, her ability to listen to the body, and respond to energy. Each session is unique and personalized with what the client presents.

Continuing Education:

Andrea learned the style of acupuncture that combines the meridian system and needles with craniosacral therapy from Gail Ptacek LAc, LMP who learned it from Dr. Daniel Bensky DO, co-founder of Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine. She began studying with Ptacek while in acupuncture school and continued monthly classes with her for several years after.

2017-2020: To enhance her knowledge and experience with craniosacral therapy, she trained for over 500 hours with Etienne Peirsman whose Netherland school has been recognized as one of the top three schools in Europe.

2017: Received her certification in Toyohari - a 120 hour training in a gentle Japanese style of acupuncture.
